In late 2008, the renovation projects that had previously kept a team of 8 time served bricklayers busy started to draw to a close. At this time internal work including re plastering and repair plastering still presented a job list long enough to keep a large team of plasterers busy well in to 2009.
In order to redeploy the forseeably under utilised Bricklaying Team within the business, Manchester working Ltd turned to The DIY School in Stockport to deliver intensive Plastering Courses that would enable the bricklaying team to tackle the plastering repair requirements across the housing stock. Not only did this save the cost involved in recruiting new tradespeople but also enabled Manchester Working to avoid making members of the the team redundant.
