Before booking and attending any course at The DIY School you must read and agree to the following:-
- DEPOSITS - A non refundable, cleared deposit of £100 is required to secure each place on each course. For 1 day courses the full balance is required at the time of booking.
- Places are allocated on a first cleared funds basis.
- BALANCE - The balance of course fees become payable, in full, with cleared funds i.e. cash or card, 14 days inclusive prior to the start of the course. If paying by cheque please allow sufficient time for it to clear. The DIY School Ltd is unable to refund any fees for cancellation or re-arrangements notified to us within the 14 days inclusive prior to the start of the course for any reason.
- CANCELATIONS & CHANGES If you are unable to attend your course and notify us within the 14 days inclusive of the start date of the course we will not be able to offer any refund and full course fees will become payable. We will consider moving you on to another course as what we call "one extra!" This means that if your replacement course becomes fully booked with new customers you will be moved again on to the next available course until such time as you are able to complete the course without us having to turn away new customers. Only in the event that a cancelled place is re-sold and your course becomes fully booked will The DIY School refund fees less a £25 cancellation processing charge. An alternative person may be sent in order to avoid loss of fees.
- Any course re-arrangement or cancellation will be subject to a £25 processing charge at any time after the booking is made.
- Students are responsible for assessing their own physical and learning suitability for the course. The DIY School Ltd reserves the right to refuse acceptance of bookings at any time before or during the course where a student's attendance may seem unsuitable or impact the ability of The DIY School Ltd to provide a safe and high level of service.
- Students must provide suitable safety work wear and safety boots suitable for work in a construction area. Clothing will become heavily soiled.
- Students must adhere to given Health and Safety guidelines and use safety equipment provided by The DIY School Ltd. The DIY School Ltd cannot be held responsible for loss, injury or damage incurred by students as result of attending or visiting The DIY School Ltd.
- The activities conducted at The DIY School Ltd present the similar risk of injury as any construction site and DIY project at home. Courses involve use of dangerous equipment and machinery, lifting and reaching. The DIY School Ltd will not be held responsible for any injury, loss or damage as a result of visiting The DIY School Ltd or attending the courses.
- Students have the right to refuse to partake in any activity. No refund is available. Each student attends at their own risk. Consult your doctor if in doubt about your physical suitability for any of the courses.
- Fees paid are for the use of The DIY School Ltd facilities, tools and materials only.
- Course dates may be changed by The DIY School Ltd without notice. The school will not be responsible for loss or damage as a result of changed dates.
- Alternative dates will be offered where courses are cancelled by The DIY School Ltd for whatever reason.
- The DIY School Ltd reserves the right to refuse any application before or during the course.
- The DIY School Ltd cannot guarantee the level of skill each individual will attain during or after the course.
- The DIY School reserves the right to change course content without notice.
- In the event of a cancellation of the course by The DIY School part way through the course you will be offered a place on the next available course or a prorata refund will be offered for the outstanding proportion of the course.
- The DIY School will not be held responsible for associated costs or losses as a result of cancellations or changes. Including but not limited to earnings, travel costs, accommodation costs etc.
