Ladies & DIY
Ladies DIY

DIY and building challenges, projects, tools, materials and methods are not catagorised in to men's and women's. They are blind to the sexes. It is for this reason that we have chosen not to run Ladies Only courses. The skills that you need are totally unisex!

Our experience tells us that women are excpetional learners coming with little ego to hamper them and an acceptance that they have come to learn...whatever it takes! We also find that mixed courses are fun, exceptionally good humoured and supportive. Men are often encouraged in to "getting on with it" when they see their female course colleagues forging ahead to produce exceptional work!

Womens DIY

Ladies form a large proportion of our customers. Some come as absolute novices determined to gain new found independence others come wanting to extend existing DIY skill that they picked up in their early years with their parents or in later years after buying their first home.

At the DIY School we have yet to find a female student unable to complete the course that they have chosen. Be it Baisc DIY Tool Use or Property and Home Maintenance through to our project based courses such as Plastering or Tiling, our female customers have produced work equal to and often better than some of their male course colleagues.

So if you are feeling aprehensive about starting on a DIY learning curve then have no fear. You will be amongst others in similar situations, all equally as aprehensive yet with a hunger to learn. What we can happily say is that you will find a new found confidence and independence and we would be suprised if, like so many others, we don't see you back again for the next steps on the DIY learning Ladder.

"I just wanted to thank you for the DIY tools use course. I am very pleased to say that since being on the course last week a mirror, shelf and two clocks have adorned the walls of my house and are still in place!Ladies DIY The course was pitched at exactly the right level and obviously in a way that I could practically take my learning home. I have since spoken to a number of women who have expressed an interest in joining the DIY ranks and will hopefully be in touch with you and join courses. Thanks once again.
