Everybody has to start somewhere! The DRAPER DIY Tool Use course is designed for those people who really want to start tackling their own DIY tasks but have never been shown how to use and select the correct tools and basic materials for the most common jobs.
The DRAPER DIY Tools Use course enables you to use and experience the most common and essential tools that should appear in a DIY Tool Kit. By teaming up with DRAPER, The DIY School is able to provide you with hands on experience of the industries leading tools.
Tools and Topics
- Correct selection and use of different hammers and nails, screwdrivers and screws
- Correct use of electric drill including hammer drills and drill bits
- Fixing into plaster, brick, plasterboard, wood and tiles using screws, nails, rawl plugs and pins etc.
- Selection and use of hand and electric saws for wood, metal and plastic
- Correct use of tape measures, levels and set squares
- Correct selection and use of spanners, wrenches, pliers and clamps
- Using chisels and cutting tools
- Use of safety equipment including pipe and cable detectors, step ladders and safe working practices
- Setting up and using a portable work bench
- Safe working practices

If you book more than one course or more than one person we will refund a 10% discount from the cheapest courses back to your card. If you are making a multiple booking by way of a cheque in the post please apply the discount to your total. The first course does not attract a discount.
