The Mill House Project

A non for profit organisation

The project was aimed at giving young people aged 14-16 (some of whom may be disengaged from education) the opportunity to access and gain a wide range of construction skills, and accreditation from their experience.

The project provided:

The Mill House project was able to provide an interesting and meaningful experience for young people where they developed skills in a controlled safe environment. The experience developed confidence, self esteem and a sense of achievement. This helped young people to develop and assist them to progress onto further education, training, and employment/apprenticeships.

The project highlighted and promoted the value of the Grade II listed victorian Pear Mill premises, which the owners and the property managing company, Lee Mar Estates have provided to the project. Through opportunities such as presentation events and press releases and other media opportunities, the project helped develop and strengthen significant benefits to the community as a whole by extending staff employment opportunities along with helping young people to move into positive futures.
